I looked and this option is for newsgroup only... a local user here
suggested manually cancel the transfer after N received (10, 20...),
and restart. Worked, isn't very practical, anyway can help those
times when the connection is instable, until find a better solution.

I asked here in hope of some magic solution :-) like those commands
in prefs.js ("user_pref("mailnews.start_page.enabled", false);" i.e.
is one I had seen here and use)
