Subj : Netscape 6.1 To : Everett Hertenstein From : Andy Barber Date : Tue Oct 02 2001 11:47 am Hi Everett On Mon 1 Oct 2001 at 20:44, some electrons were re-arranged so that Everett Hertenstein, could reply to Andy Barber about Netscape 6.1. EH> Andy Barber wrote in a message to Everett Hertenstein: EH>> It would fit easily on a 100Mb Zipdisk. :-) AB>> Or a CD-R but the lap top does not have these devices. I AB>> have instead used the Internet to do all the backing up. EH> I'm missing something here. How are you using the Internet EH> to do backups? My work email account has a 50Mb limit, so I post the files to myself at work. Another alternative is to upload the files via FTP to any of my free websites. As only I know of their URL, the files are unlikly to be seen by anyone else, except the search engines. Unless you know the filename of the achives, it is highly unlikely that any of my archive can be seen by anyone else & even if they were seen, they are password protected. I stated doing this, after someone who lived near me, put up posters on the trees saying that they had had their iMac stolen "With the only copy of my 3 year thesis on it." Ouch! (As this was 1 month after the iMac was released, I wondered how they got a 3 year old file onto the iMac in the first place (as the iMac doesn't have a floppy drive,) & more to the point, why they had lost or more likely (obviously) deleted the source copy of the file.)
