When I started using a ISP, their software installed IE 2.0 w/Dialer for Win 3.1. My friend found N16E12N.EXE in the ISP's Files Section and installed it for me. Later on I got NS Navigator 3.01 from the net and installed it. I also grabbed IE 3.0 and use it WHEN I HAVE TO. I can't find the 3.01 d/l, but I have found a copy of N16E304P.EXE in the computer shack. It looks like I never upgraded to 3.04 tho. I checked the file dates in the NS directory against the d/l file date of the NS 3.04 file, and saw I grabbed the 304 file at a much later date. I suppose 3.01 was working so good I didn't want to try upgrading it. When I got a laptop with W95 on it I asked here and was told to use 32-bit Communicator 4.08. I was surprised to find out that Mail wasn't included in the Base version. So I started using Eudora for my mail on the laptop. Some time later I d/l 32-bit Comm 4.75 Base and noticed that Mail was put back into the browser. As I said in my earlier messages, I lost 4.75 when the Service Dept. put a new HD in the laptop. So I'm back to using 4.08 again. BTW - I started a d/l of Comm 4.76 Complete the other morning, and after one hour of a 2 hour session I got a DISK FULL Error Msg. (My modem is 28K) I use NetZero and I guess it uses more space than I thought it did. Yep, the HD only has 40-50mb free at start up. I'll try again another day, but this time I think I'll go back to the Comm 4.75 Base that I had previously used. That is, unless someone here tells me that 4.76 is much better than 4.75. ;) Above you mentioned 4.08 has a HTML Editor with Tools. I prefer writing email in plain old ASCII Text. I use Juno on this W3.1 pc and receive email all the time in HTML. Of course Junos 16 bit version is Text Only so I go ahead and read the message, skipping over the =20's here and there. I check Juno on the W95 machine a couple of times a month, just in case someone sent me a message with a Attachment, so I can keep the mailbox cleared out. Juno will accept those kinds of messages for me, but they won't send them to a W3.1 user. Juno for W95 lets me read those pretty HTML crafted messages and receive Attachments too. I hope I haven't confused You and the Others here with my switching back and forth from 16 bit and 32 bit NS software. --- BBBS/LiI v4.01 Flag-2 * Origin: Prism bbs (1:2320/38) .
