a nodelist modifier could put that node on "hold" so that crashmail goes to
its hub or coordinator

yeah the lack of an analog protocol flag is a clue, even 300bps nodes
should fly the a V21 flag.

The hold flag should do the trick as I read the specification.
you can't put that flag in the distribution nodelist but putting it in the
local copy should work.
