All nodes would still need the nodelist as it defines who belongs to Fidonet. 
Sysop details, location, status (down, hold) would only be included in the 
nodelist.

Doesn't make any sense. The DNS is a mechanism for converting names to IP 
addresses. No IP address, no need for a DNS entry.
