Subj : human-readable nodelist format To : andrew clarke From : Scott Little Date : Sun Nov 03 2002 03:05 am [ 02 Nov 02 09:47, Scott Little wrote to andrew clarke ] SL> This allows specifying (but not overriding existing) missing SL> hierarchy* pieces that aren't part of the address (all of it for St. Actually... this format allows any node to be placed out of order, since it mixes order-dependant information (domains, regions) with back referencing information (end nodes specify their zones and nets). FRL-1002.001 documents a full hierarchial address format, intended for route lists: DD:ZZ:RR:NN:HH:FF:PP which would look something like: fidonet:3:54:712:61:848:0 Which isn't terribly readable since we're all used to Z:N/F, but it's easier to read by machine, which is what the nodelist is normally used for. If Z:F/N addresses are really necessary (for easier human text searching) it can be listed next to it, but ignored by machines. -- Scott Little [fidonet#3:712/848 / sysgod@sysgod.org] --- FMail/Win32 1.60+ * Origin: Cyberia: All your msgbase are belong to us!
