Subj : RADIO STATIONS To : David Duvall From : Howie Coombe Date : Tue Mar 30 2004 02:49 pm Dear David, in regards to this message to me. > *** Quoting Howie Coombe from a message to David Duvall *** >> HC> Aha, how many stations do you have?. >> I have no idea...i listen to two rock stations on and off. > HC> Aha, the reason i ask is because i belive the Presidency of George W > I hope this is on topic of this echo. I would think of it as a dicussion on Spiritual Extreamism in music, Censorship in music and political correctness in music and as such, as long as you remember the words "in music", totally on topic, ish. > Anyway, I haven't noticed any rise in these stations. None?, not even relitivly speaking?, i could be wrong or we could have a different definition of "these stations", or maybe i am just surprised and disapointed in the lack of numbers of Contempory Buddhist, Hindu, Islamic or Judaic Music Stations, which i think would be a good thing in America right now. > I think there still might be one Christian contemporary station and then > there's one which could be considered a Fundamentalist station which > doesn't play any rock/pop music. Aha, actually in my local experience it is the Contempory Christian Music Stations that one should look out for, their DJ's look and sound perfectly Contempory, untill they open their mouths, at which point they tend to sound conservative at best > Overall, I would say it's traditional church-type music. At least with that kind of music you know what sort of dj's you are getting. > There's one new rock station I listen to, another station which was modern > rock, i think is country as of...maybe last year or the year before (I'm > not sure) and I saw an advertisement the other day for a new station which > used to be a different frequency (I guess that's the term) for the same > radio station earlier on in the dial. Aha. > So to answer your question, I haven't noticed anything here like that going > on. Ahh, but how big a share of your radio market are those stations getting?. > I could be wrong. Or i could be. > If it's bad to you, then don't listen to it. :) Good idea exept like all people with a social engineering aware brain and nannyish tendency's i am not worryed for me, i am worried for everybody else. --- FLAME v2.0/b * Origin: Common Ground +61-8-8223-2131 - Telnet cg.dircsa.org.au (3:800/816) .
