The hardest thing for you might be getting used to the thicker strings.  For 
me, I tried guitar first, but as far as actually getting a guitar for myself 
and starting to play, I started with bass.  I pretty much "played guitar" on 
the bass.  In other words, played the bass like I was playing guitar parts. :)
