It's only the idea of making money, not of making a song or TK>> music. :-( AA> Exactly. I hate Madonna's "remake" of American Pie. Her version is AA> geared for a dance crowd, but then who really pays attention to the lyrics AA> when they dance!?? So.. her strategy was clearly just to cash in on a AA> market. That's the point. They take famous songs and know that they can't fail, because the chorus has already been a hit and everyone knows it and can sing along with it. AA> There is also a remake version of Roberta Flack's "First Time Ever I Saw AA> Your Face". Again.. the "new" version is dance-oriented. The original so AA> much more passionate. Unfortunately the music industy is only interested in making money. Fast money. The aren't interested in supporting a newcomerband (that is not casted) that writes their own stuff. They want puppets, singing the supposed songs. And if they refuse - hey there a many people willing to do that. A band that rehearsals for serveral year and does their own stuff won't let the A&R lead them this much. The have an own opinion and are able to fight for the songs.
