Subj : journey 3 To : ALL From : MICHAEL LOO Date : Sat Jun 17 2000 10:57 am Had a Really Good light meal on the plane coming out of Anchorage. It's funny - the inflight catering there beats NY, Boston, Washington cold. (Just got off a plane at SFO from Anchorage: as we deplaned, someone just behind me said "brrr, cold." It had been 80 in Anchorage, and it's in the 50s here). I had another fruit cup, but all the fruits were fresh and unblemished - honeydew, muskmelon (not cantaloupe), red seedless grapes, and pineapple. Bear in mind that this meal was packed in Anchorage, Alaska. Then the usual salad with a decent balsamic vinaigrette. White rolls scented with orange. Stir-fried fresh shiitakes and onions, a dish good enough so that I will make it for myself sometime and count myself lucky if it comes out as well; fresh! not mushy! noodles tossed with red, green, and yellow peppers; fresh! steamed al dente asparagus. The guy next to me (I dropped Sharman off in Anchorage) had a VLML, vegetarian something meal, and it was identical except that he had gorgonzola dressing on his salad. For dessert they had the bad grace to offer me a hot fudge sundae (akin to their offering you the Grandin brut - a decent bubbly, nothing special), and I declined in favor of a peanut-butter cookie. Now I wander off to Providence, then Phoenix, then home at last. ___ Blue Wave/386 v2.30 --- * Channel 1(R) * 617-354-3230 * Cambridge MA * 130 lines * PostLink(tm) v1.20 CHANNEL1 (#15) : RelayNet(tm) * Origin: "THE WORLD BEYOND" - Leaving the Others Behind!!
