Subj : Strange... To : All From : Matt Mc_Carthy Date : Fri Feb 23 2001 01:17 pm Hi All. I am in the process of changing bossnodes. The old bossnode, 396/1, uses "fakenet addressing"; the new bossnode, 396/45, does not. Not knowing if anyone is still watching here, I'll not post the .CFGs yet. I am running Binkleyterm, QMail, and MsgEd. During this interim stage, I have made two subdirectories, 39614 and 39645, each of which contain ALL the .CFGs and other stuff. Whichever I am going to call, I simply copy that entire sub-directory over the "..", which overwrites whatever was there previously. The contents of the 39614 directory are unchanged from what has been working great for some ~4 years. The contents of the 39645 directory have all the "fakenet addressing" removed, and the new address and password(s) inserted. Here's what is happening. Inbound from 396/45 seems OK (after some password problems). Outbound is not so good! Everything is fine 2-way with the old boss! I have Netmail and one echo linked to 396/45. I post a Netmail, either a reply or a new message, and I post an echomail. Exit MsgEd, and I have a Msged.log file, but it only lists the echomail echo, NO netmail. Is this normal ????? Next, run QM Scan Pack, no outbound is generated, but QM _does_ delete the Msged.log file, indicating MsgEd _did_ generate the errorlevel upon exit. What would stop QMail from grabbing that echomail message and generating an outbound packet? While awaiting any replies, I'll be working on a listing of all the .CFG files in a side-by-side edit so y'all can see exactly what's different on a line by line basis.
