I understand that. But I disagree. The essence of the zany-ness (did I say 
that?) is as far as I can see deeply influenced by the culture it arose from. 
Take (to make things even more difficult) the difference in zany-ness between 
the Pythons themselves... The atmospheric humour of Oxford versus the more 
verbal humour of Cambridge?
