Subj : Re: Do you remember the first time you saw Monty Python, movie or TV se To : Jimmy Largent From : Guilbert Date : Thu Aug 11 2005 07:38 pm From: "Guilbert" Here in the UK I started watching Python from the very first episode. I had heard of John Cleese from other radio and TV shows he had done, such as "I'm sorry I'll read that again" on the radio, or "At last the 1948 show" on TV. I had not heard of any of the other pythons, although I found out later I had watched three of them (Palin, Jones and Idle) in a UK children's TV show called "Do not adjust you set". I loved Python from the start (I have always loved that sort of zany comedy), but the sketch that made me fall off the chair in laughter was a short sketch of Mr Gumby flower arranging. He proceeded to turn the flowers upside down, stuff them in a vase, and hit them with a hammer. I cried with laugher and slid off the armchair on to the floor.
