Subj : Spamalot To : All From : Oldgold Date : Fri May 06 2005 04:22 pm From: "Oldgold" Python: I Hate Hit Show MONTY Python comic Terry Jones hates the hit Broadway show Spamalot which takes his classic movie The Holy Grail to the stage. Terry, 62, who co-directed the 1975 film, written by the Python team, said: "Spamalot is utterly pointless. It's full of air." The sell-out musical - with tickets costing up to œ200 - is the brainchild of former Python Eric Idle. It bills itself as "a musical lovingly ripped off from the motion picture". Terry said: "We agreed a deal. If we'd known it was going to be such a success we'd have asked for a better deal. "Eric is making more from Spamalot than the rest of us ever made from Python." But Terry has no plans for an old pals' reunion. He said: "I like doing things I'm interested in. Regurgitating Python is not high on my list of priorities." http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2005202534,00.html --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5 * Origin: FidoNet MONTE <--> alt.fan.monty-python (1:379/45) .
