Subj : Eric Idle on SNL retrospective To : All From : Todd H. Date : Tue Feb 22 2005 01:14 am From: t@toddh.net (Todd H.) In case anyone TIVO'd the SNL first 5 years special the other night, I was surprised to see Eric Idle as a very very prominent part of that retrospective. Fun to see. He said that out of all the NRFPT Players, he felt that only Aykroyd was of a caliber that could hang with the Python folk. I thought that was interesting. I'd love to know more about why he felt that way. Aykroyd has always been a superb supporting man/ensemble (SNL, Blues Brothers, Grosse Pointe Blank), but god, he has no business leading a damn thing (Blues Brothers 2000, Dr. Detroit, and several other catastrophes I'm sure).
