I don't think they were both called Reginald, and the script seems to confirm this. Of course, after the Mr. Gulliver/Clodagh Rogers/Trotsky/Eartha Kitt thing, I'm pretty sure Jones didn't know who he was playing, either. ;) The short answer is, welcome to Python. As I recall, that's the only time Mr. Gulliver's first name was used, so it could very well have been a slip. Characters occasionally change names mysteriously, sometimes due to the same character crossing sketches, two sketches being combined in the writing process, or simple errors in the scripts or performances.
