Ya know... here in FidoNet, we trash on each other like it's just "alright". 
Maybe that's the nature of the hobby, when we don't see each other face to 
face.  The "HUMAN" things though, despite echo personalities and such, is when 
the humanity of the people we may think different of comes out.

Thom... I have suffered some things in my life, very similar to what happened 
to your daughter, and had to deal with them.  I took action on the last one, 
because I had to.  To be honest, I would really wish I never had to, and even 
though I did, I will never be happy over it.  It would have been much better if 
the problem wasn't there to deal with in the first place.

The supposed "satisfaction" that was gained over it, wasn't enough, and never 
could be. Although time has passed since then, there are deep scars in on my 
end, and nothing can solve them. There are also very deep scars in me over it 
all.

I don't know what to say, except that by the nature I have seen of you, that it 
is likely that you and yours have a handle on things, being very much into 
reality, and down to Earth, and that with time, the amount of healing that can 
be humanly acceptable will be achieved.
