Subj : I think things have gone overboard. To : ROY WITT From : EARL CROASMUN Date : Sun Oct 06 2002 03:00 pm -> MG> Stan Hardegree, a point off of Dale Ross announced that Dale Ross had -> MG> removed POL_INC from his system because POL_INC did not ban Wayne -> MG> Chirnside. -> I'll be darned. I just telnetted to Dale's system, looked into POL_INC and -> lo and behold, a message dated October 4, 2002 from Wayne Churnside to -> Mimi Gallant (sp) was posted in the echo. -> MG> Wayne Chirnside made no threats in POL_INC. Stan posted -> MG> his fear that Dale Ross would remove POLITICS if that echo harboured -> MG> him. -> Obviously, Stan is full of it, as POL_INC and Wayne Chirnside are still -> there on Dale's system. A few quick facts: On Oct. 1, Ceppa posted this: "If you are a downlink or a user of 1:379, please look for another feed if you want to continue to access this Echo. It appears that the "Mail Mover" for that link is deciding to not move the mail between us." This apparently stemmed from Dale Ross saying on his BBS that THAT BBS may be dropping Ceppa's echo at some point, since it is a redundant echo. Each reader can speculate on the possible motives for Ceppa's reaction. Michael (co-mod of the redundant echo) inaccurately paraphrased the comment by Stan Hardegree. Again, you can feel free to speculate on the motive. What he actually said was that he doesn't KNOW why, and he speculated that the serious matter of fido-transmitted death threats might be a possible reason. The most interesting comment concerning the handling of the threat situation was made in an echo of which I am co-moderator. The name is fake, but the point is indicated. He takes the very position that Michael attacks when he imagines it elsewhere. "Yeah, well it won't wash anymore. You are nothing but a whining imbecile, and you should just turn the computer off. I'll be forwarding your threat to the proper authorties myself. There is NO excuse for what you've done, and all your aches and pains don't forgive you for it. You are an imbecile. You don't deserve access to this hobby. Go away, forever. And get help. Bye bye! Wheezer --- DevilPoint 6.66 * Origin: "Action should culminate in Wisdom." - Bhagavad Gita .
