Currently I've got a mailing list meant solely for overflow discussions on 
rec.music.filk - the idea is if it's interesting and people want to continue 
it, but it's gone off topic (which is actually fairly hard for rmf, long as you 
keep song in it somewhere), it can be taken there.  Works fairly well.  Not a 
flame ml, though if anybody wanted to argue in there it wouldn't be against the 
rules.  Of course you can also conduct flame wars in the ng; you just have to 
make them rhyme and scan.
