Since when?

The EK is independent of Fido, as stated many times by many people.

He has no more authority than granted by sysops and net admins who decided
to be distributed one had to be Listed.

Thom has no authority to give orders to anyone, no matter what /de/ /facto/
"standards" are in use.

The Governor of New York might as well give orders to the active military
units that are "sort of" like his National Guard units.

Either way, it doesn't work like that.
