Steve was hit by a Randy Johnson fastball for uttering:

The problem with Cobb vs Rose is that Cobb didn't get banned. Look at Shoeless 
Joe Jackson. He was every bit as good as Cobb was but that stain was enough. If 
Cobb would have been banned, I would guarantee you that he wouldn't be in 
despite his records (Records that Rose would have broken much sooner given the 
number of years that Cobb would have lost).

I remember in 1987 when there was talk that he deserved the Cy Young, despite 
being 8-16. He got zip for support, however; he WAS the best pitcher in 
baseball that year (I don't think I can ever remember a pitcher having such a 
poor record with such great stats. I think that the Astros scored 2 or fewer 
runs in all of his 16 losses or at least, nearly all of them).
