I don't know that I'd get as excited about the Rangers, even if they won two championships, as it's hard to give up your ol' childhood team, if that means anything. eg> I'm SO sick of the media. Preaching to the choir. I get a little tired of the media adulation some days. eg> I hate Selig and the other "small" market whiners. The I never quite understood how he managed to manoeuvre himself into the commissionership. Might as well let one of the players be commissioner, no? IIRC, Selig no longer has a stake in the Brewers, but doesn't his daughter? eg> Rangers and Indians are perfect example of former "small" eg> market teams that turned it around. It wasn't too long ago eg> when both were losers on the field and on the general ledger. Hell, we used to laugh at the Indians all the time when I was a kid. You know you're in bad shape when the fans of the -fifth place- team laugh at you (ISTR that Toronto and Cleveland were perpetually behind us :). eg> I think that Texas had no choice but to go after a guy like eg> A-Rod and I don't think that they overpaid. Personally, I think the whole thing is a Frankenstein's monster that's gotten away. :-/ --- * Origin: Il Vaticano * Argyle, TX (1:393/9005.13) .
