I saw they had a fantastic turnout for tickets SQ> -- Arod is already a big hit around here, and he was at the SQ> Mavs/Warriors game I attended the other night -- so let's hope we've got SQ> a winner at long last. I'm an A's fan so don't expect me to wish you luck.:-) I'm SO sick of the media. After Jeter signed with the Yankees, Mike Celizic, a free lance writer from New York working for MSNBC, took more stabs at A-Rod and said that Jeter proved that he was all about winning and not money because he re-signed with the Mariners. Well, last year those same media boobs were crying about how the Mariners were going down fast because they gave up Junior and got so "little" in return and now, you'd think that they were the second coming of the Yankees and A-Rod had left them high and dry. Excuse me but weren't those Rangers winners of 95 games the year before while the Mariners won only 79? Seems to me that it doesn't take much to turn a franchise's fortunes around in that division and the Rangers are just as close to 1st place as ANY team. I hate Selig and the other "small" market whiners. The Rangers and Indians are perfect example of former "small" market teams that turned it around. It wasn't too long ago when both were losers on the field and on the general ledger. I think that Texas had no choice but to go after a guy like A-Rod and I don't think that they overpaid. --- TrekEd 1.00 * Origin: Support Pete Rose and Nolan Ryan for the HOF (1:170/1701) .
