Subj : Washington Senators To : All From : Joe Siegler Date : Sat Nov 10 2001 01:54 pm One thing that I didn't realize about the Washington Sentators until all this contraction talk came up is that the last time baseball contracted was in 1899. Something I read said that one team that was contracted (although I'm not sure if it was after the 1899 season or not) was the Washington Senators. If that's true, it corrupts my previous thoughts about the Senators/Twins & Sentaors/Rangers timelines. I've always considered the Twins lineage the original Senators, and the Rangers Senators II. However, if there was a Senators that got contracted over 100 years ago, that would make the Rangers version of the Senators Senators III (and the Twins, Senators II), although I've never heard this issue raised before.
