What was his take on Nolan Ryan?

Well, I was speaking theoretically, along the lines of "If you want to quibble 
with numbers, here's a better candidate than Nolan Ryan for quibbling."  Niekro 
was always a favourite of mine, and I was thrilled to see him enshrined in the 
HOF.  How old was he when he quit anyways?  Damn near 50, right?

 eg> 318-274 (.537) vs 324-292 (.526), 3 20 win seasons vs 2. ERA
 eg> is higher but that comes from pitching in parks that were
 eg> more hitter friendly.

And playing mostly for a team that was among the laughingstocks of MLB.
