Subj : Autumn Equinox To : All From : Lance Lyon Date : Tue Mar 23 2004 09:26 pm AS the sun makes its annual progression across the sky twice in this cycle, it reaches a time of equal hours of day and night known as an equinox. This year the autumn equinox falls on Saturday, March 20. For the people whose lives are tied to the land and its seasons, it represents the time of the second 'wild' or ‘green' harvest of the fruits and vegetables of the earth, a time to take store for the colder months ahead. It is also a time of balancing, of weighing up what has been achieved and planning for what is to come, of looking at what is needed and the direction of our life's path. The equinox has also traditionally (for over 3000 years) been a time to celebrate with festivals and fairs in a way of preparing us for winter. --- * Origin: Landover Amiga BBS - http://commodore.thebbs.org (3:712/313) .
