Ok. This is a song I wrote back in 1989, right after the demise of the big time
TV evangelists (including one I had great respect for...same initials as mine,
played piano). I was in the throes of 'mid-life crisis' at 42 and also in my
third year of a 4 year bad cocaine habit. Arf. Despite the fact that the song
was a serious cry for help, both it (I recorded it on my third album) and I
were shunned by the local Christian community. Not their fault.


LAMENTATIONS

Something's wrong inside, I think I've lost you.
I don't know what to do, 'bout losing you.
Now every day, alone, I must decide...
What am I gonna do without you.
Once there was power/there was joy and light.
How could I let it go without a fight...

Ouch! That hurt just to listen to again and type the words. :-) I think I
performed that live only about 3 or 4 times (it was hard to make it all the way
through the song without breaking down) back in 1990 and then I did rehab in
1991. :-) Later in '95 I put it on my Christian Country album. Maybe I'll
upload it to my website, as it has some interesting chord changes. (I haven't
listened to it for 5 years)
