Wilbur called and told me a plane had crashed into the WTC. I turned on the TV and about 5 minutes after, I saw (what looked to me to be like a corporate jet) the second plane hit. Then watched the whole thing evolve from there. I think watching the countless re-reruns of it affected me more than watching it as it unfolded live. I mean...the whole world's nutz to some degree or other. :-) What's embarrassing is having the cops cordone off each end of your block and have ten of them surrounding you in the street (in broad daylight) just out of arm's length and coax you to take your place on the gurney as the ambulance backs up with the doors open (beep beep beep). And then having the driver stop and come back and beat the s**t out of you, slamming his knee into your chest repeatedly as you are strapped down, all the while yelling, 'Not so bad now, are you, tough guy?' and arrive at the hospital with a black eye and bruised ribs. :-) His partner, who was riding in the back, blocked the view from the cop who was following us. When he finally got out and came up to ask if anything was wrong, the guy stopped beating on me...and I stopped laughing in his face. :p I made a note about it when I paid the $500 ambulance bill.
