If I hadn't been...there woulda been fireworks, ;) I had "insurance" but it put depreciation schedules of 5-10 years on most of my stuff. As if old, well maintained classic guitars are worth less in time. URRRGGHHH! My L-6S was at least 20+ years old but in mint condition when I got it. And it (she) was SWEET! It was a collectors item if anything. Don't EVER be underinsured per your instruments, man. I learnt that the HARD way. And don't ever leave them unprotected. :-P My prob was living in a bad area without bars on the windows and daring to jam loudly at nights so that people could tell I had "the shit". Shoulda rented rehearsal space and secured storage. JS>Fostex made good sounding stuff. Yep. I recorded many multitrack things where I played every instrument (I had a cheap ol' bass guitar and a drum machine AND my drummer's kit around most of the time as well) and I used my Fostex to remix some live stuff my bands did as well. It was a beauty machine. JS>My first single was done on a Fostex 16X, 1/2 inch JS>16 track. On vinyl...I use it for my 'after the football game, news JS>producer's theme song'. Heh. I open the thing with just the JS>background trax of one of my songs.
