Why shut down the echo?

Fidonet traffic has always been low during the summers.  It's only during
the winter months does Fidonet really thrive.  It's also during the winter
months that folks do allot more BBS'ing and play more doorgames.  Take a
look at the statistics.  Traditionally, Fidonet traffic is more than twice
as large the winter following a summer.  If I had a vote, I would simply
want to wait until next March before shutting down echos like this.....
