Well, why not?? but of course.. looking at possibly a win/ce version as well. The main key at all this new development on the hand helds.. most of these devices can do internet connectivity.. soo, am thinking.. write a lord "server", and then client for these various platforms.. would allow lord fans to play from anywhere.. heres hoping that the readers of this thread dont think im trying to pull lord away from the bbs scene.. ive been bbsing since i was 10, and have been doing bbs programming for 11 years now.. im not stopping anytime soon.. Just want to get as many people playing lord as i can :) besides.. whos to say that thios new development couldnt lead to telnet clients for the palm, win/ce, etc.. aka bbs'ers on handhelds. :)) -> group of BBSs around for quite a while. Meanwhile, maybe you should -> consider porting LORD to Java Script. :-| while i do have plans for a web version of the game, java script, php, embperl, perl, asp, and others are a no go. the web version will have to be something thats compilable, so i can keep the game closed sourced.. which right now, theres only 2 options i can think of.. the first being java.. thatd work, and allow for a lot, but not something im fond of, since java is rather nasty on the end users virtual machine.. the other idea is to use c (or maybe pascal) to write a cgi type .exe .. this is probably the route ill go.. even tho id like for any webmaster to be able to run it.. (the exe idea would require you to have a cgi-bin as well as a world-writable directory) -> Does for a fact! Ever do anything similar to the paths or routing -> done in Tradewars? I have an application.. paths or routing? not sure what you mean.. --- ViaMAIL!/WC v1.60d * Origin: Chowdanet (401-331-5587) telnet://chowdanet.com (1:323/120) .
