Subj : Networking modems To : George White From : Simon Avery Date : Sun Jul 09 2000 03:35 am George White on 07 Jul 00 in LAN Hello George DD>>>> problem, but does anyone know how I can use only one DD>>>> modem between two networked computers. I am running DD>>>> WIN98 on both. GW> Modem shareing (access from a different machine) via a GW> standard comms program or Internet GW> proxying/masquerading/whatever? I didn't think it had the GW> modem shareing. Ah! Of course, you're right - looks like me and BC both read Dot's Q. wrongly... To answer the original Q., I understand some of the more expensive LAN solutions (Such as LANTastic) can do this, but whether they then make the modem available to dos apps is something else again. OS/2 shares modems, does it not? As does Unix? Windows has always been a little weak in this kind of area. :( -- Simon Devon, England --- Digital Dilemma * Origin: Tired Dog Software: come.to/tdsoft (2:255/90) .
