OK. G:\QWOK tells me it's not 4DOS. Let's try this. Sounds like you're using DOS. Reboot, at the "starting MS-DOS" prompt, hit F5. That should skip config.sys and autoexec.bat. Now delete that file. Now reboot, and hit F8 at the prompt. Step through like 4 or 5 commands, and say no to all of the rest. Is there a new file like that? If so one of the commnads you ran is making it. If not, repeat, but run the fist 9 or 10 commands. Check again. Repeat till either the system boots completely, or the file appears. If the system boots completly, then it's something outside of autoexec.bat and config.sys making those files. No, it would have a .000 extension for the primary shell, .001 for 1st shell beyond primary (2ndary), .002 for the next shell beyond primary (tertiary, or 2nd secondary), and so forth, to a theoretical max of .999. If I could do that, I could probably use GM> TurboPower's MARK (before I load SHARE) to mark that section of memory GM> and then use their RELEASE (to clear the memory space after Windows is GM> finished). Do you have any suggestions or opinions in this regard? Only if you're VERY careful. Share doesn't like being unloaded. If anything is using share when you unload it, they will throw hissy fits. -- Dan --- FMail/Win32 1.60 * Origin: * Coming Soon! Telnet://thedungeon.dnsalias.net! (1:311/6) .
