Lately I've been trying to do stuff with nfs. It's working out so far, but there are times when it gets cumbersome. In kmail, for example, I will go to enter or leave a given mail folder and the LAN will appear to saturate, according to what I see on the light on the hub, and the indications in top on the other end.
