I've never had a GM> strong desire to run my (DOS) Fidonet system in a GM> multitasking environment until now. The purpose of GM> getting the WfWg system on the network was to provide a GM> means to transfer all my (DOS) Fidonet over to my W98SE GM> system #_WITHOUT_# having to copy everything onto floppy GM> diskettes (or buy a USB card to plug in my external CD GM> burner). ahhh... understood... you want to move the stuff without having to reinstall it or having to resort to floppy, zip or cd to move it... IIRC, you use the file manager (fileman) to create the mappings from within WFWG... i also recall loading the networking stuffs before WFWG and manually (or in a bat file) using the "net use" stuff to map the drives in... heck, for that matter, you should just be able to use the networking stuffs without having to get a GUI involved at all... i have had a DOS peer machine here as well as having also added server stuff to it to make a DOS peer server... however, that is/was all it would do due to memory constraints and that pesky 640k barrier... [trim] GM> Well, I've been somewhat successful in mapping the network GM> drives on the XPP and W98SE boxes, but mapping the WfWg GM> network drive eludes me (that's why I'm here, asking all GM> these questions of Everyone)... see above about fileman for mapping drive letters ;) GM> P.S. Send me an email message to my W98SE box please -- I'd GM> like to take advantage of your knowledge in setting up GM> FrontDoor (with 4DOS command processor) with W98SE. we can do this in any of several echos... the FDECHO is one of the first that comes to mind... there's also the 4DOS echo and possibly it would even fly in the WIN95 echo...
