Subj : A rather general question To : Roy J. Tellason From : Gerald Miller Date : Mon Jun 28 2004 08:47 pm Hi there Roy, Responding to a post in the LAN area: On Monday June 28 2004 at 12:09, Roy J. What protocols do you have available in 3.11? I suspect RT> that's going to be the limiting factor there. All three machines have (at the least) the TCP/IP protocol. I had to exchange email with a fellow in Scotland who pointed me to an archive on the Microsoft ftp site and I was able to locate Microsoft TCP/IP-32 3.11b. The WfW3.11 box has these protocols: Microsoft TCP/IP-32 3.11b [default] Microsoft NetBEUI IPX/SPX Compatible Transport with NetBIOS I'm sure there are other protocols available but the fellow in Scotland said I didn't really need anything else. (???) The W98SE is showing 19 (???) protocols (some are duplicates or triplicates) and I have no idea how many are on the XP box... I might have to go with the computer names because sometimes the router gets reset and then all the IP addresses change, depending on which computer gets turned on first... Cheers ... Gerald ....
