When DOS 6.0 was released, Microsoft offered a DOS Workgroup connection
add-on. On the online FAQ for that it states:
Microsoft has also made available a free DOS-level add-on, allowing 
machines running DOS or Win 3.1 to connect to such networks.  To install
this add on, you need to get files from Microsoft's FTP site.

Get the DOS Workgroup Client from ftp.microsoft.com, in directory /bussys/
clients/MSCLIENT.  Get both files.  They're self-extractors. Extract all
the files, run SETUP.  Now your DOS machine is a client on your Windows 
Peer to Peer network. 

Go back to ftp.microsoft.com, and get WG1049.EXE, from /softlib/mslfiles. 
It's another self-extractor.  Run it in your /NET directory, and let it 
overwrite whatever it wants to. This enables your DOS machine to share 
its files.

Make the obvious changes to /NET/SYSTEM.INI. Some fine tuning is required
like "Computer Name", "Network Name", I/O Base and Interrupt.  And make 
sure you set the 'filesharing' and 'printsharing' "YES".

Now you have a DOS based client/server that can work on a Win95 network
I just checked and the files listed are still available.

MSWC1.ZIP is 978kB (1,001,745B)  The archive was created, um well that
doesn't matter, the main files are dd 1-10-92 timestamped 03.11 with
some autoexecs and config files dd July & March '98

I don't think I've run it either.  The author signs himself as from
the university of Zagreb.  It's 202kB (207,337B)

Any INet connection at all?  I'm hesitant to use the filebone since that's
sorta broadcast.  The path of your traffic shows in 2D
