Not too sure what you shouldn't attempt on a 10, but I did find out that a pentium pushing files to a 486 generally gave network transmission errors, whereas I could pull files from the pent from the 486 most of the time using 100's, in netbeui. I got around that by always ftp'ing to and from the 486 via my local tcp/ip network. Cheers...
