Right, that's why you need the more recent version of Samba.

Yep and using DHCP makes my laptop connect both at work and at home with no 
changes whatsoever. And the printers are just as easy to use regardless of 
where I am.

Yep, certainly. I dunno if you kept the URL it so I take it again:

ftp.microsoft.com/bussys/Clients/MSCLIENT

and download at least the two files there. Unpack and run install and that's 
about it. Installing MS is not that simple too often nowadays ;-)
