Ok, I'm running Netware 3.11 on the server. workstations are running
DR-DOS 7.03, and Win 95. Both have are using the Netware shell from the
Netware 4.2 package that I'll be upgrading to when I have the time to
down everything, do a complete backup, etc.

First the problems on the DOS systems (the Win95 system has similar
problems, plus some extras).

Login does the following on it's own (no such commands in the login scripts)

Search 1 gets mapped to SYS:PUBLIC
Search 2 gets mapped to SYS:PUBLIC\<machine>\<os>\<version>

And I map several other drives in a batch file after login.

The problem is that often, S1 or S2 wind up mapped to the *root*
directory. Ditto for the other search drives I add later in the batch
file. This *never* happens from the command line, only at login or from
batch files. 

The error message is "Directory XXXX is not locatable". Huh?

Also, frequently, mapped drives (even non-search drives) map correctly,
but you can't *change* the directory. 

The Win95 systems have an additional wrinkle. When I open a second DOS
window, the search drives aren't mapped as search drives. And trying to
change mappings in one DOS window will clobber the mappings in another
window. 

Obviously *something* is wrong. But what?
