 Heheheee... My dad shakes his head every time Rats and I get into a
conversation. I mean, after 2.5 yrs of living with the lil person I
have come to learn what the meows -mean-. Heh, I've even found a few
words that I meow to him that he responds to and DO mean something I
wish (pray, grovel, and any other word that means things like begging :)
him to do. Early training and repetition helped a lot though.

 According to a show I watched this morn, cats are _not_ a vocal species.
The meowing is a learned trait. If a cat meows this way they can get the
two-leggeds to do this for them. If they meow another way they can get us
to do something else. So, as you can see, WE learn to respond to certain
meows and the cats are quite happy about it. <BWG>
