Well, the initial actions are promising. I got home from the trip at noon today and Rats let me pick him up, give hugs and got snuggles, and *THEN* he remembered he was supposed to be mad at me. Least I wasn't surprised by the actions. :) On my trip I visited with 2 of my sisters who are owned by cats. As I sat there chatting the cats finally wandered into the room and I thought I was _back_ at home. Both of the cats I met were females and their build is smaller than Rats, but the markings are almost identical on all three. It turns out that I have a Bengal instead of the alley/Ocelotto (sp?) cat mix that I had originally thought his lineage was under. When I was powering up my system this afternoon I jumped on the web and did a bit of research on the Bengal breed. Turns out that my 16 lb friend is actually on the 'light' end of the breeds weight scale. Males average 18 lbs (7.2 kilos! :), while the females run 10-14 lbs. I also found out that the characteristics find so appealing in Rats are in fact the basis for setting the price range on this breed. Imagine my dismay when I discovered that at a time I was nearly penniless, I had a cat worth about $600US 'fixed'. Not like I would have gotten rid of the little scoundrel, but at least he could have earned his kibble as a stud. I also found out that there are various geneology levels with the Bengal breed. Bengals are feral cats that are bred to domesticated ones. First generation litter is considered F-1, second is F-2, and so on. The prime litters are F-2 and F-3 kittens. Not like I could figure out what generation Rats is without expensive tests, but he does have the personality traits of an F-3. Heh, whatever he is, I'm just glad he adopted me. :) Pat & =^..^= .... I wasn't into body piercing till the cat got my tounge. --- EzyBlueWave/2 V2.01b001 00F90258 * Origin: Rats' Place. Pat just lives here to _feed_ me. (1:114/635) .
