Subj : Where'd that saying come from? To : George Pope From : Patrick Vittori Date : Fri Aug 29 2003 09:10 pm Evenin' George, Heres the bit of history I mentioned in the previous message. Heres a bit if history trivia for ya'll: In the olden days when houses had thatched roofs, they were nothing but thick straw, piled high, with no wood underneath. It was the only place for animals to get warm, so all the pets(?) ...dogs, cats and other small animals, mice, rats, & bugs lived in the roof. When it rained, it became slippery and sometimes the animals would slip and fall off the roof. Hence the saying, "It's raining cats and dogs." Strange, but _true_. :) Pat & =^_ .^= Hmmm... Kitty Cat learned to wink? .... My cat is part Bengal. No WONDER he has tiger-like claws!!! --- Ezycom V2.01b001 00F90258 * Origin: Rats' Place. Pat just lives here to _feed_ me. (1:114/635) .
