Long after, I got another cat, & just felt like breaking the pattern (couldn't think of any feline names for that one, and sort of wanted to call him "Peaches & Cream" or something similar, because his coloring was so unique and beautiful, but nothing I could think of sounded right for a boy, and then I noticed I was calling him, "Little Buddy" more than anything else, so "Gilligan" it was! The one I have now was named "Pumpkin" by the woman who adopted her, but I've found her to be more of a "street punk" type personality, so I call her "Punkin". . . :) PV> LOL! Ya, my kit is a determined hunter too. The 1st year I lived here Gilligan had free access through an always-ajar living room window to the great outdoors, and used to spend a lot of his time out hunting birds (quite successfully, so it saved me on cat food bills, but the little brat would never do his 'business' while outside -- he'd always come home just to pee! (I tried to tell him to cut that out & save me some money/time/work with the litterbox, but he'd never listen!) :| I had him neutered, and the rule was to keep him indoors for 4 days -- it broke my heart to watch him at the window, waiting for it to open so he could go out and play! Finally, after the 4 days, I opened it, and he was gone in no time! An hour later, I hear him fussing with something (often he'd bring his birds home to finish off) and I see him with a quarter of a SEAGULL!! (BIIG birds here!) He was covered in blood(not his own, much, luckily!) and enjoying chowing down on the rest of the wing/breast! I could just picture what happened -- he got outside, and, being a typical MAN-type male /purr/-son, he was thinking along the lines of, "So what, you chopped off my 'nads, I'm still a MAN -- watch me hunt the biggest damned thing I see out here in the parking lot -- I'll show you that you can't take my manhood away!" *LOL* Punkin doesn't go out at all, so I don't know what kind of hunter she'd be -- she does do well at catching flies (she jumps straight up and catches them in mid-air, between her two front paws (so cuuuuute!)
