RE>RJT>I thought I'd gotten off fairly well while away from here recently... RE>RJT>Turns out that's not the case. While the machine was still up and runnin RE>RJT>when I tried to start using it I got some odd behavior from the keyboard. RE>RJT>This got worse until it got to where it was unusable. In the process of RE>RJT>around with it I ended up also not being able to access one of the hard d RE>RJT>in the box. That drive, unfortunately, was one of the more important o RE>RJT>-- I lost all logs, a big chunk of my files sections, a lot of archived RE>RJT>mail, and *all* of my message areas. RE>Mine was a reluctant primary HD. 'Took several tries to be recognized RE>and finaly gave up after 2 days running! I'm lucky to have another HD of RE>same type cloned a few weeks ago and dBase files backed on a floppy. These RE>are IBM Deskstar, Model DTLA-307020. They seem to lose their identity every RE>year. :-( That'll teach me to stick to Seagate. RE>I don't recall what I do to fix that, but my head is startin'get sore from RE>scratchin'. That should teach me to write things down.... I remembered, after a lot of false starts.... Every once in awhile something (Windoze) changes the drive TYPE! I loaded Toms/rt/bt to look at fdisk and discovered the problem, changed it back and all is well! 'Hope your luck was good... Cheers, RE --- .. OLX 2.2 . "Admit nothing! Deny everything!
