Subj : Terminal Emulator for Max OS X To : All From : Smartyhall Date : Fri Aug 06 2004 09:29 pm I have been a long-time PC (l)user. I was led astray in my childhood by well-meaning people wo convinced me that Macintosh computers were substandard systems. I have, however, recently learned the error of my ways. I purchased a nice shiny new 17" PowerBook with a SuperDrive for my use at college this past Spring. It has been wonderful. It has AirportExtreme (802.11g) built in, and I did not even have to configure ANYTHING to get it working with the school's wireless access points. (It was much different for several Windoze users I knew.) The same was true with my new DSL connection, just plug and go. However, I have one C%tiny problem... I cannot get extended ASCII characters to display correctly. I have a terminal emulator that will display that correct font, but it make it proportionaly space, so it looks wierder than collored question marks in Terminal. I know that the Mac user base is small, but if Angus is watching this, I believe that someting simmilar to his fix for Linux should work, since OS X is essentialy running BSD wiwth a happy-Mac interface on top of all that power. .
