Okay, double checked EVERYTHING on the bbs end... looks good, for the record
it is creating the work directory and the up and down for that... just not
decompressing the packets. ARE YOU ABSOLUTELY sure the program wants pkzip and
pkunzip or info zip? I tried both and it would not decompress the packets. 

i had to do something to make the program work, and i'll darned if I can
remember what it was. the guy that writes this program needs to add a code
line to the config file saying look for the compression files here in this
directory. and also, he needs to make some changes to the structure of the
program to make it a 100% windows program and not a DOS with a windows portal.
it's a great program just needs a little tweeking. I'd do it, but I'm 
flipping clueless when it comes to programming crap. 

anyhow, wishing could get the stinking thing to work... it's a nifty program, 
just gotta get it to work... Arrgh!
