I'm just not sure that's saying much. ;-) I can relate to that. It is better than what they've stuck us with in the past (but then again, what isn't). I'd prefer to be able to ding around with my Linux system more often but I only have one comp at the moment so I only get in there when I need to. Admittedly things are slowly changing, but (generally speaking) for the bulk of business/office computing these days a solid grasp of MS systems and tools is a must. Once you get higher up the food chain in IT work or development you may luck out and get to play with the cool toys but the masses are stuck with Windows. If I didn't need to know my way around it well enough to fix the general blips it generates in the office I wouldn't worry about it. But I can't see calling IT and waiting on their bureacracy to fix something that would have me back working in the time it would take to call them. I think advertising and marketting are two of the great evils of the world. Where else can you achieve dominance of an industry with sub-standard products but in the American marketplace? Later, Q .
