Subj : Synchronet BBS I'm running To : All From : Sardaukar Siet Date : Sat Jul 30 2005 12:48 pm Hi! I'm totally new at this, and getting synchro to compile was a pain, but I have it on and currently it works, but only as root - if I change the user_id on sbbs.ini all the threads get is "!SIGWAIT(4)" and die, even running all services on high ports... I fear running the daemon as root, can anyone help? I want this straightened out before I begin customizing it and all. Also, is there a good tutorial out there that can teach me out to create a rc.d script for SBBS? (like /etc/init.d/sbbs {start|stop|status) Thank you for your time reading this, please mail me at sardaukar.siet@gmail.com as I will probably have a hard time tracking down replies to this. :) (You can send me replies teaching me how to view replies to this post...) PS - I'm running RedHat Fedora 3. PPS - Is there a way to disable rlogin? I just want telnet, mail, web, and news... Thanks again! Keep up the great job! When is the GTK+ frontend coming? (eheh) .
