CP>That was the highest option I had. I believe the others above it were greyed >out. It may be a bug in the app, or in the system software, OR, it could be >that I'm using cheesy media? The CD-RW is (I'm reading this from the cd >insert) Memorex CD-RW 700 MB, 80 Minute and a little box underneath says > "Write from 1x UP TO 4X MULTISPEED". CP>Oh man, please tell me I didn't pull a brain cramp and use sh*tty cd's. >I have the natural ability to make things seem 100 times harder than they >really are Okay.. That makes more sense. I didn't realise you were talking CDRW's. CDRW's usually burn at slower speeds than CDR's. I have a few 4x CDRW's here as well but I don't use them much anymore with CDR's being so cheap. Newer CDRW's would burn faster as well. I'm not sure what the better ones are of late but my LG burner says it can write CDRW's at 32x (CDR's at 52x). These days CDR's are so cheap most people just use them instead and treat them as disposable. You can probably get name-brand spindles of 25 or 50 CDR's that will burn at 48x or 52x at a price that works out to 20c or 30c each. Stay away from fancy colours. Lots of people had problems with Black CDR's a while back (Memorex maybe ?). The best colours for them are bright silver or silver with a slight blue tone. This is the CDR media itself, not the labels.. Speaking of.. Don't add your own labels to them after you burn them. Some tests have shown that the lifespan of a good quality CDR can be reduced from about 75 years to as short as 18 months when you add a label because the aftermarket stick-on labels (the glue probably) tend to slowly eat into the dyes that the data is burned into.. The data is not on the bottom of the CDR as you'd expect. It's burned through the plastic to a surface right under the label. --- þ SLMR Rob þ By God, for a moment there it all made sense! þ þ PDQWK 2.52 #17 --- þ BgNet 1.0á12 ÷ Capitol City Online * KY * 502/8758938 v34 * cco.ath.cx .
